About Our Staff

Megan Parker, MSW

I am a social worker working towards Clinical Licensure. I received my Master’s in Social Work from University of Denver in June of 2021 and have undergraduate degrees in both Psychology and Public Health. I loved the 22 years I spent living in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Growing up in Virginia Beach, I decided to return to my roots to be closer to aging family members. I love being in the great outdoors whether in the mountains or at the beach and feel that nature has a way of soothing the soul.

I started in this field with the honor of working with clients and families experiencing end of life, through hospice. One area of study I have focused on is processing and living with grief. Grief and loss show up in everyone’s life and doesn’t always include a physical death. I now provide one on one therapy with teenagers and adults, working on a variety of challenges. I have a passion for the underdog and the underserved, which is why I take clients with most insurance companies including Medicaid. I offer both in person and on-line appointments.

I will help you realize the strengths you may not recognize you have. Together, we can find a way to make your past a part of your story in a way that builds strength, character, and life skills. The environment in which we are raised and live in as adults can have a big impact on both physical and mental health. My background in Public Health can help you understand the risks and benefits of your environment, with a focus on prevention. I will help you build your confidence, help you make decisions based on your values and your goals, and work to increase your coping skills.

We sometimes need a witness to our pain but need help learning how to move forward. I would love to help you with this process.
